about Yikai Luc Wu

Yikai Luc Wu is a filmmaker whose name means Eternal Happiness in Chinese while he keeps making the saddest story for his characters.

He is known for his directorial work in narrative film and dance film, such as Phone Call at 1AM, I Felt Lonely When I Was Not, and Shadow of the Class. Meanwhile, to fine-tone his understanding of cinematic language through light and shadow, he works as the director of photography for films such as Plate Spinner, Moon, and of A Golden, AFTER NOON.

Yikai is also known for his directing work in the theatre production the String of Butterflies the Musical. Among his colleagues and his friends, he is known as a great barista who makes the best coffee both traditionally and creatively after his 5 years experience as a co-owner of a café. 

Received his BA in Business Administration (Shanghai International Studies University) and an MFA in Film Directing (California Institute of the Arts), Yikai works mainly in topics that deal with human irrational emotion and the rational logistic behind every physical movements.
